Refund Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
We want families to understand every charge. This policy explains when and how refunds are issued. Your signed financial responsibility form may contain additional details.
Intake calls
Initial phone consultations and benefit verification are free.
Insurance overpayments
If you pay a copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount and your insurer's final processing shows you owed less, we refund the difference (or credit it to your account if you prefer) within 30 days of receiving the insurer's explanation of benefits.
Private-pay sessions
- Sessions canceled with at least 24 hours' notice are not charged; any prepayment is refunded or credited.
- If we cancel a session, you are not charged and any prepayment is refunded or credited.
- Prepaid sessions remaining when services end are refunded in full.
- Completed assessments and sessions are not refundable, but we'll always discuss concerns about the quality of a service with you.
Social skills groups
Private-pay group enrollments canceled before the first session receive a full refund. After the series begins, unused sessions are refunded on a prorated basis if you withdraw for medical reasons or a move; otherwise, we'll offer a credit toward a future group.
Billing errors
If you believe you were billed incorrectly, tell us within 60 days of the statement. Confirmed errors are corrected, and overcharges are refunded within 10 business days.
How to request a refund
Email support@lapbehavior.us or call (305) 382-6457 with the parent or guardian name, the child's name, and the statement in question. We acknowledge within 1 business day and respond in writing within 10 business days. Approved refunds go to the original payment method or by check within 10 business days of approval.
Disputes
If you disagree with our decision, see the dispute resolution section of our Terms of Service. You may also contact your health plan about insurance billing.
